IT IS AND CONTINUES TO BE THE POLICY OF THE ADAMS CENTER NOT TO ALLOW THE RESELLING (SCALPING) OF "TICKETS" TO ANY GHOST HUNT OR EVENT AT THE PROSPECT PLACE ESTATE.  AS A 501(c)(3) ORGANIZATION WE ARE NOT EQUIPPED TO DEAL WITH SALES TAX WHICH OUTSIDE AGENCIES WOULD BE REQUIRED TO PAY. FURTHERMORE WE WILL NOT ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH FOR PROFIT COMPANIES ATTEMPTING TO PROFIT FROM OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS.  OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS OFTEN DO NOT OFFER INSURANCE TO COVER PATRONS AND OUR INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER OUTSIDE ORGANIZATIONS OR THEIR CUSTOMERS.  IF YOU CHOSE TO GHOST HUNT AT THE ESTATE YOU MUST MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS DIRECTLY THROUGH THIS WEBSITE WITH THE ADAMS CENTER.  IF YOU HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO PAY ANOTHER PARTY WE CANNOT HONOR THOSE PAYMENTS OR ARRANGEMENTS.  WE DO OUR OWN FUNDRAISING AND DO NOT NEED THE ASSISTANCE OF ANY OUTSIDE FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION TO DO THIS.  ANY SELLING OF "TICKETS" BY SUCH COMPANIES OR ORGANIZATIONS IS AGAINST THE POLICIES OF THE ADAMS CENTER AND MAY BE A VIOLATION OF STATE AND FEDERAL TAX LAWS.

We want everyone to understand exactly where your donations go:  The general support and operation of the Adams Center.  Unless you specify your donation go to a specific project it will be deposited into the Adams Centers general fund and used for everything necessary to the operation of the Center from educational outreach, restoration of the estate, electricity bills, mortgages, copier paper and miscellaneous office supplies, tools for the restoration of the estate, grounds maintenance and so forth. We are an all volunteer organization.  Not a penny of your donation is used to pay any staff member or Trustee or used in any way to benefit anyone financially (that is the point of a non-profit).  On occasion contractors must be hired in order to complete certain tasks (like septic tank pumping and repair).  These are not, however, employees of the Center but are vendors to the Center and performing necessary skilled/licensed services.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL DONATIONS TO THE ADAMS CENTER ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  IN THIS TIME OF EVER INCREASING TAX BURDENS ANY AMOUNT DONATED TO A 501 C 3 ORGANIZATION CAN BE WRITTEN OFF YOUR TAXES.  THIS SEPARATES PROSPECT PLACE FROM "FOR PROFIT" GHOST HUNTING ESTABLISHMENTS.  WHEN YOU GIVE HERE YOU GET SOMETHING BACK!
