Civil Rights and the Job of the G. W. Adams Educational Center

In the 19th Century George Willison Adams championed the rights of the oppressed African-Americans who were held as slaves in the south. After a long and bitter struggle slavery ended with the Civil War. However, the struggle of the African-American for equal rights under the law, for acknowledgment from white society as people and citizens has been and continues to be an issue in America.
Today in America it is not only the African-American who struggles for equality and justice, but any and all minority groups. Latinos, Asians, Jews, Native Americans, the Gay-Lesbian-Bisexual and Transgendered, people of all religions and creeds included in minority groups all struggle for their rights as people and citizens.
As part of our mission at the G. W. Adams Educational Center, we advocate Civil Rights for all citizens. To that end we are committed to educational programs and community outreach to help the majority of society understand and accept all minorities as people with rights and as equals. We have assembled below a number of minority group categories with links to organizations in Ohio and elsewhere you may contact to get more information or become more involved in the modern fight for freedom and equality.
